A girl sat quietly on the sill of her second floor window. She took a deep breath, reveling in the warm smell of ripe crops and fallen oak leaves. Slowly, as if she was trying not to be seen, she shifted into a crouching position, her legs no longer dangling in the air, but now tense underneath her. Then, she was gone, out the window, as if she was just an image carried on the breeze.
Of course, she wasn't truly gone, and anyone observing closely enough would see the movement of branches in the old syca

An old woman sat on her rocking chair, creaking back and forth. A small smile played at the corners of her mouth as she seemed to be waiting for someone, or something. But, alas, she didn't have to wait much longer, for a light knock came to her front door. In a light voice, she called out, "come in, come in!"
